The “Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Resolution of 2013, signed into law on March 26, 2013, has a “hidden provision” forced on Congress by Monsanto lobbyists that gives Monsanto protection under the Farmer Assurance provision of the continuing resolution through September 30, 2013, to prevent food safety groups from convincing American farmers to abandon or destroy GMO crops that made the safety approval list of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Pressure needs to continue to ensure that this “Monsanto Protection Act” as it is known from taking any legislative form against the health and safety of Americans.  Write your Congress to have it repealed!

A Kansas farmer accuses seed producer Monsanto Co. for gross negligence after the discovery of a stand of Roundup Ready genetically engineered wheat drove down prices for US crops. After officials at the USDA confirmed the wheat had come from Monsanto seed, Japan and South Korea abruptly suspended US imports.
