STAIN REMOVER  |  To remove carpet stains, spray a mixture of 2/3 of warm water and 1/3 of ammonia on the stain.  Put an old towel over the stain and run a hot iron on the steam setting over the towel.  The heat lifts the stain from the carpet into the towel.  Spot-test first.

PLEASANT AIR  | Instead of using perfume sample inserts from magazines as bathroom air fresheners, dab your favorite essential oil on a cotton ball and insert it inside the cardboard toilet paper role.

CARPET CLEANING  |  Mix a quart of water, a teaspoon mild liquid soap, a teaspoon borax or TSP (trisodium phosphate) product and a squeeze of lemon juice or splash or vinegar; apply with a damp cloth or sponge and rub gently; wipe with a clean cloth and allow to dry.
